DELEGATION ARRIVES IN LOMBARDY
8th-14th February 2001
The Agency for China trying to make the relationship
between Lombardy Region and Tianjin Municipality more rich and productive
has organised a week during which a series of meetings and conferences
between the Representative Delegation of Tianjin, come in Italy, and some
public corporations and private societies of Lombardy.
The Delegation, composed by Mr.Li Dechong, Governor of Tianjin District,
Hebei, Mr. Ma Lianyong Vice Director of Tianjin Construction Committee,
Mr. Liu Fengsong Vice Director of Tianjin Foreign Affairs Office, and
other people, has been taken in for three days by the Province of Pavia in
Pavia. So, from February the 8th to February the 10th, the Delegation
could have seen a series of local factories which are intending to begin
having commercial relationships with Tianjin Municipality. The factories
which were visited are Riso Scotti Spa, Zonca Spa, Idreco Spa, Comez Spa
and Cablacar Spa.
During the three days spent in the Province of Pavia, at the office of
Provincial Administration of Pavia, the Delegation has participated to the
meeting whose title was: " China continent: challenges and
opportunities ". During this meeting Mr. Li Dechong, Governor of
Hebei District, has introduced the project about the restoration of the
italian area in Tianjin. After his speaking Mr. Mario Tschang, President
of Agency for China, has discussed the question relating to the creation
of a commercial centre whose purpose will be wholesale and retail trade of
italian goods. Consequently the Governor and the President of Pavia
Province signed the collaboration's protocol. Their staying in Pavia was
also characterised by few fashion shows sponsored by Mary Shot's Tricot,
by Cagi and by some shoes and accessories' manufactories united to
Consorzio Vigevano Export.
From February the 11th to February the 13th the delegation stayed in Milan
where they met the President of Agency for China which was followed by the
signature of Friendship Agreement between Meda Municipality and the
Representatives of Tianjin Municipality. The delegation also visited tha
factory of Mapei Spa at Robbiano di Mediglia and it participated to a conference
in Como whose theme was " Como: an excellent district for the
production of craft made weaving".
At the end of this journey in Lombardy it was set an
important seminary regarding "The evolution of old licence in a
modern centre of sending italian products" that has raised again the
question about the importance and the profits of the promotion of italian
economy in Tianjin and of the reintroduction of its italian quarter.
SEMINARY
ABOUT THE PRESENTATION OF BEIJING INTERNATIONAL HIGH-TECH INDUSTRIES WEEK

The President of Agency for China was invitated to
partecipated to the seminary about the presentation of italian mission
which will be present at the fair titled "Beijing International
High-Tech Industries Week 2001" organised by SMAU, PROMOS and Milan
fair. During the meeting at Giureconsulti Building were present:
Scientific Consul of Chinese Popular republic Liu Zhiming who has spoken
about the chinese market of computer science and that of communication
tech nology; Mario Tschang, President of Agency for china, who has
introduced the modalities and activities that serve italian societies in
China; Alcide Luini, General Secretary of Italy-China Commercial Chamber
who has spoken about negotiation with chinese counterpart.

DELEGATION IN MILAN

A group of political representations of Tianjin
Government with a group of the most important networks'reporters were
invited in Milan by the Agency for China to promote and to bring out an
exchange between local popular media and look for new opportunities of
collaboration between Milan and Tianjin in the field of advertising.

DELEGATION IN ITALY
June 2001
A delegation composed by Ms Wen Xiaohong, Assistent of
the general Director of Executive Commitee for Foreign Investment; Ms Chen
Huiling, Vice-Director of Huli, Xiamen, Districtual Government; Ms Xiong
Yanliang, General Vice-Director of Administrative Commitee of Xiangyu
Xiamen Free Trade Zone; Ms Zhang Binna, Officer of Investment Promotional
Division of Executive Commitee for foreign investment and finally Ms Zhang
Xianwen, member of General Office of Xiamen Municipal Government came to
see Italy. The issue of the visit was promoting some projects of
investment with foreign countries, already under negotiation, and better
introducing the Xiamen investment project. On the occasion of the arrival
of Delegation a short seminary was organised, its main purposes were:
introducing to italian societies the opportunities of investment in Xiamen,
promoting the Fair of Investment which will have set in Xiamen on November,
the 8th, introducing and promoting Xiangyu Free Zone and Huili Industrial
Zone, creating relationship with companies and societies and invitingthem
to Xiamen. The meeting was promoted by Confederation of Chinese
Association which has introduced the discussion about cooperation between
italian and chinese companies to promote industrial export in Xiamen.
WHY LOMBARDY
June-December 2001 Shanghai - Lombardy Building
During the second semester of 2001 at Shanghai, in the
Lombardy Building, a series of meetings was held to encourage an
increasing synergy between chinese and lombardy's interests. The
seminaries, whose subjects were of different kind, have let the two
parties to the case gain a mutual and deep knowledge of economical and
cultural aspects, which were till then unknown.
Lombardy
Building's show room undoubtedly was the ideal place to meet the
entrepeneurs of Shanghai and to show them what Lombardy was.
Using short films granted by Lombardy's Tourist Assessorship, we joined
our chinese guests, many of whom didn't know the fundamental aspects of
our Region.
We have also created a
big informative panel, translated both in chinese, both in italian to
make the explanation clearer and more comprehensible. This panel contains
political, economical and geographic informations about Lombardy.
The chinese first approach with Lombardy situation was more pleasant and
interesting by adding few pictures which represent Lombardy's cities with
their most important historical monuments and squares.
As first result, most of the people attending the meeting showed a deep
interest in visiting our cities, our natural beauties and fairs.
Among the seminaries we organized, first of all we can remember that one
held in September, 2001, titled "Why Lombardy: Big Growth of Italian
Furniture as Contractors."
This meeting's speaker were:

Mario Tschang: "New opportunities of cooperation between Lombardy/Shanghai
small and medium industries of furniture"
Geraldo Alongi: " Industrial lighting in our offices"
Wang Mingliang: Director of China National Furniture Association, "Italian
Furniture as Quality".
During the meeting we could show the Futura Shanghai's progress, which is
a partner of "Agency for China" on chinese market. Futura
Shanghai, staking on the high quality of works which are partly imported
from Italy and partly produced in China, up to day has 11 corner of
italian products in China.

The President of Lombardy region Formigoni, with the
collaboration of Agency for China, has organised a
cocktail for the chinese delegation, among whose members was Mr. Cheng
Jinpei, Vice Minister of Science and Technology of Chinese Popular
Republic, come to Italy to participate to The Milan
Triennale.

DELEGATION IN LOMBARDY
11th-19th July 2001, Milan
The delegation of Executive Commitee for foreign
investment of Xiamen Chinese Municipality was invited by Agency for China
Srl that, with the collaboration of Promos - CCIAA Milano, had decided to
organise two events on July the 11th and on July the 19th, considerating
the continously growing importance of Fujian Chinese Province and
particularly of Xiamen Municipality on the relationship with Lombardy
region.
Fujian Province in fact invited two delegations in Italy, an institutional
one, whose purpose was acting as a gap between institutions and the
Delegation of Executive Commitee for foreign investment (on July, the
11th) and one effective, whose participants were the members of the
Delegation for foreign Trade and Development.
On July, the 11th, at Palazzo Giureconsulti in Milan there was a
meeting about the various opportunities that Xiamen Province gives to
small and medium businesses of Lombardy, especially about the
opportunities of investment in China. The speakers were on italian side:
Mario Tschang, President of the Agency for China, Carlo Bottarelli,
President of Pavia Export, Mario Carniglia, Otim, Perez's President,
Italian-Chinese Commercial Chamber, Marco Loiacono, Director of
Apilombarda, David Doninotti, AICE Member, Lorenzo Millo, Manager Promos,
Stefano Bega, Manager Promos. On italian side there were, Mrs. Wen
Xiaohong, Assistant Director General of Xiamen Foreign Investment
Executive Committee, Mrs. Chen Huiling, Vice Head of Xiamen Huli District
Government, Mr. Xiong Yanliang, Vice Director General of Xiamen Xiangyu
Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee, Mrs. Zhang Binna, Official of
Xiamen Foreign Investment Executive Committee, Mr. Zhang Xianwen, Senior
Staff Member of Xiamen Municipal Government General, Mrs. Li Dongmei,
General Manager of Xiamen Huanqiu Machinery Equipment Co. This kind of
event has to be put among those initiatives taken to promote the presence
inside the Lombardy's PMI system in the development process of chinese
economy, particularly in Xiamen Municipality.
The Xiamen Delegation is interested in creating commercial relationship
between Lombardy's PMI and their representative association. Four big
Xiamen societies have declared their interest in establishing a
collaboration in fields such as industrial investment, Import-Export,
Financial and Insurance services, Tourism industry, Handicraft, Weaving,
Leather Working, Bioengineering Logistics, High-Tec.

INTERNATIONAL FAIR OF INVESTIMENTS AND COMMERCE IN CHINA
8th-12th September, 2001, Xiamen
Also this year the Agency for China participated to the
5th Fair of Investments held in Xiamen.The Fair, one of the most important
in all Asia, saw once again the partecipation of a large number of italian
and chinese operators and the presentation of interesting investment's
projects.
There were a Lombardy's
istitutional stand, visited by the General Italian Console at Canton,
the Dott. Federico Failla, and a series of representative stands of the
following italian company: Futura
Srl, Baimex
Srl, Universal Selecta Srl, Metalmek, Caimi brevetti Spa, Bazzana e
Osama Spa.
Baimex and Futura companies were set some samples, while the other
companies carried out promotional activities by distributing their
catalogues.
On the occasion of the Fair at Xiamen, the Agency for China and the
Lombardy Delegation participated in important istitutional meetings such
as:
the meeting
with the Mayor of Xiamen municipality, Mr. Wang Shuzu; the meeting
with the Vice-Governor of Hunan Province; the
meeting with the Shanghai delegate of ICE, Dott. Carlo Addis, and the
meeting with the Italian General Console at Canton, Dott. Federico
Failla.
On the occasion of The Fair of Investiments few important seminaries were
set to let the Italian Delegation meet a part of chinese operators who
work in the city of Xiamen.

MEETS THE VICE-MAYOR OF SHANGHAI
29th October-5th November, Milan
The Agency for China has organised on the 30th floors
of Pirelli Palace, in Milan a
meeting between Formigoni, the President of Lombardy, and the
delegation of Shanghai, come in Italy for the cultural week Shanghai-Milan
lead by Zhou Muyao, vice-mayor of Shanghai Municipality.
The chinese delegation present
at the meeting was composed by Yao Mingbao, President of Shanghai
Tourism Administrative Committee, Yang Guoqiang, Vice-President of
Shanghai Popular Government's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yu Jianhao,
Vice-Director of Shanghai Popular Government's Minister of Foreign Affairs,
Li yin, Vice-Director of Shanghai Popular Government's Office. They could
have met the directors of some lombardy's assessorships. The President
Formigoni has announced that the possibility for 2002 year that a
representative delegation of Four European Engines, whose Lombardy is an
integral part, could visit Shanghai with Spain, Germany and France.
According to the intentions of President Formigoni, by the help of Agency
for China, a series of meetings and seminaries could be organised to
promote the relationship between China and the Four European Engines and
in Shanghai a representative fair of typical products and of italian
societies could be set.

DELEGATION IN MILAN
19th November 2001, Milan
Promos - CCIAA Milan and Lombardy, in association with
the Agency for China have organised at Palazzo Affari in Giureconsulti a
series of bilateral business' meetings between italian PMI and a
multisectional delegation of chinese PMI came to Italy. The initiative has
to be put among those that are directing toward the creation of a
collaboration between Promos - CCIAA PMI of Lombardy and Italy. Because
China, and especially Tianjin zone which would have more and more frequent
relationship with Italy, it should seem a good idea this attempt to
increase the contact between Lombardy's businesses and few important
chinese ones, among which we remember Tianjin International Advertising
Company; Tianjin Garments Imp. & Exp. Corp; Tianjin Honour Fashion Co.;

IN FAIR
1st-9th December 2001, Milan
By the help of Agency for China a delegation of chinese
craftsmen with their representatives of Xiamen Municipal Trade development
Committee could have staged a stand with typical chinese products inside
the Pavilion of international goods at the famous fair of handicraft in
Milan.
The occasion to show and compare few chinese handicraft goods with those
of Lombardy and more generally whole Italy has been kindly and
enthusiastically received by Xiamen Municipality that for few years has
been participating to the fair.
SHANGDONG
DELEGATION
10th-14th December 2001, Milan
Agency for China was invited to participate to the
meetings organised in Milan by UNIDO ITPO Italy and by UNIDO ITPO China.
The meetings involved some members of italian economical and political
survey and a delegation of entrepeneurs and representatives of chinese
local autorities of Dongying city, in Shangdong province. The chinese
delegation was composed by: Mr. Han Baoguang, Vice-mayor of Dongying; Mr
Ma Hongyong, General Vice-secretary of Dongying; Mr Yang Qingshan,
Director of Council of Dongying Jinhan Co.; Mr Zhang Zhenwu, Director of
Council of Dongchen Group Co.; and others, they came to Italy thinking of
promoting some projects of industrial collaboration, joint venture
agreement or transfer of technology to chimical and agroindustrial fields.
