CHINESE TRADE DELEGATION
1-8 February, Lombardy

A Chinese trade delegation, interested in a cooperation with Italian manufacturing industries representative of different fields, has arrived in Milan on the 1st of February.
Agency for China, directly contacted by the delegation's organizers at its offices in Shanghai, acted as intermediary and organized the journey and the business meetings here in Italy.
During its stay the delegation visited various furniture industries, all in the Brianza manufacturing area. After the visit the delegation, supported by Agency for China's employees, met some manufacturers interested in entering into an import-export relationship with China.
Moreover, the Chinese delegation came into contact with some textile manufacturers and with the representatives of Lorenzo Riva Fashion House.

LOMBARDY TRADE CUP
14 March - 19 September, Italy

Agency for China, ALDAC (Lombardy Association of Trade Industries) and Milan province Association of Trade, Tourism and Services has organized the 2nd edition of the Lombardy Trade Cup. The tournament is open to all the members of the three associations and of the golf clubs which will house the races. 
The event gives the participants the opportunity to meet managers and representatives of various trade fields and possible business cooperation.
The 10 races are classic, with 18 holes Stableford and are followed by final prizes for each singular race.
Besides, there will be a classification for each member of the three associations, according to which the first three winners of each group will win a journey to China, where they will take part to the final challenge.

HOUSE TRIMMING COMPONENTS PRODUCTION'S TRADE FAIR
6-12 May, Shanghai

Agency for China is organizing a House Trimming Components Production's Trade Fair in Shanghai, at Lombardy Building.
Given the increasing Chinese's interest for Italian high-quality house trimming components (such as handles, water taps, lamps, windows, doors and so on), Agency for China wants to offer to the Italian manufacturing industries the chance of introducing themselves to the Chinese market and to build import-export relations with Chinese wholesalers.
Agency for China will be responsible for the logistic organization of the fair and will place its employees and translators at disposal of all the participants.

TIANJIN INTERNATIONAL SPORT'S TOURNAMENT
22-29 July, Tianjin

Following the recent election of Beijing as centre for 2008 Olympic Games, the Municipal Government of Tianjin has decided to organize in July the first Tianjin International Sports Tournament. The sports included are tennis, ping pong, swimming and baseball.
The Municipality'spokesmen have declared that this tournament will be the first of a long series of tournaments that every year will involve teams from all over the world.
Aiming at becoming a more and more international city with international relationships, Tianjin invites 48 cities and foreign countries to join this important international sport event. 
Agency for china, aware of the importance of the event and of the fact that Lombardy region belongs to Tianjin's Sisters Cities, has thought of organizing the participation of Lombardy's athletes.

DECORHOME 2002
1-5 July, Shanghai

Decorhome 2002 was an exhibition of "Italian style" furniture and fittings.
It was organised by the Agency for China in Shanghai, using Lombardy Building's vast exposing area and relying on the Agency's connections with the Chinese institutional and economic world. 
In the last few years, China has showed an increasing interest in Italian furniture and fittings' production, and the Agency for China is sure that such an event will have an increased success in the years to come, especially for the Italian producers who want to export to China.

INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT & TRADE FAIR 2002
8-12 September, Xiamen

The Agency for China has taken part again to the 6th International Fair of Investment & Trade in Xiamen, thanks to the support given by Lombardy Region and by those who wanted to establish an economical and commercial relation with China.
The Agency had a stand inside the exhibition area, housing a desk each for Lombardy Region and the Italian firms that took part to the event.
Given China's impressive economic development, and its relationship with the rest of world, thanks to the fact that it has just joined the WTO, the International Fair of Investment & Trade in Xiamen can be seen as a unique opportunity for the Italian economic world to get in touch with China.

FOUR ENGINES OF EUROPE IN CHINA
Autumn 2002

The Four Engines of Europe, and especially Lombardy Region, organised with the Agency for China an official journey throughout the Chinese country. It involved the most important members of the European economic and political world. The aim of the journey was to enforce and widen the contacts between the People Republic of China and Baden-Württemberg, Catalunya, Rhône Alpes and Lombardy, and the Four Engines of Europe. Some institutional and commercial meetings with members from the Chinese Government and Chinese firms, as well as some workshops, were organised by and inside the Agency for China's local offices in Shanghai and Tianjin, granting the success of the journey.
